The unknown story . . .
Every design has a story with footprints of different trends and designers. All the 27 different designs we have in our portfolio today are named after girls in the family and woman who are close to us. Ramona, on the other hand, is an exception. Not really knowing where the name came from, one thing is for sure- Ramona is and still remains a famous, mysterious story.
Ramona is often referred to as the unknown woman.
Ramona is one of what we call “the three sisters”, along with Silje and Carina. All three sisters are designed by Odd Leikvoll, the founder of Hardanger Bestikk. Ramonas simple, decorative shape is iconic. The design is among our oldest cutlery series and was launched in 1982.
Cutlery for us is personal, it is something that should fit your personal interior style. Nevertheless, we as humans care about following different cutlery- and interior trends. It is therefore important for Hardanger Bestikk to have sophisticated designs that we can rely on to be a safe, yet stylish choice. The timeless design with brushed surfaces and straight edges has struck the nerve of the Scandinavian design, with no geographical limitations.
Simply everyone loves Ramona.
The design has been and still is Hardanger Bestikk´s best-selling cutlery series since 1982, and to this day there have been produced over 40 million pieces of cutlery. To put it into perspective, we can say that every citizen of Canada, Poland or Iraq can have one cutlery piece each- can you imagine!
