Here at Hardanger Bestikk, we take great pride in developing and creating timeless and quality-assured designs. Our design series are personalised with unique features and stories, which are also well known to our customers.

The Hardanger series was launched with the desire to create a series of high functionality for all occasions. The Hardanger series focuses on products that are used in addition to ordinary cutlery, such as Cheese sets and salt and pepper condiments. The Hardanger series can complement all designs, both existing and upcoming cutlery designs in Hardanger Bestikk.

Trends

The Hardanger series started small. Coffee became a big trend towards the mid 90’s and Irish coffee became a big trend that was here to stay. Hardanger Bestikk went from selling around 600 coffee spoons annually to selling around 32,000 coffee spoons the following year. This trend can be compared to several coffee trends we have experienced since the mid-90’s, but especially Dalgona coffee which took the market by storm at the beginning of 2020.

The coffee spoons expanded our product range and way of thinking. Our customers liked products that followed trends, and this allowed us to continue with product development based on trends. Tacos, sushi and tapas became a trend for us Norwegians and we at Hardanger Bestikk followed the trend by developing products such as taco holders, sushi chopsticks and tapas spoons. These were products that became very popular.

Since then, the Hardanger series has been further developed to contain more products. The Hardanger series consists of products we know our customers use and love. This means that the Hardanger series consists of products we know our customers use and want in everyday life.

Hardanger series

Several products in the Hardanger series have both been nominated and won several design awards, both National and International. The Hardanger series considers a wide user group and is created so that all people can easily use each product. The products in the Hardanger series are an innovative range of additional products that combine aesthetics and innovative production methods with Scandinavian design. We at Hardanger Bestikk have spent a long time testing cutlery and products, in particular how and when these products are used. The Hardanger series is designed for use for all occasions, for example dessert settings, seafood settings, breakfast settings and everyday life

The Hardanger series is an innovative product that has been created to make everyday life easier for most people. Spork (a combined spoon and fork), is a product designed for people with trembling hands. In the design process, emphasis was placed on balancing the relationship between length, design, and peaks in relation to the design of the spoon blade to allow best functionality. The spork is a well liked and important product for many.
